The below sizes are based on having the sand at a roughly 3mm thickness and filling the surface area listed below;

50g - 10cm diameter
100g - 15cm diameter
250g - 20cm diameter
500g - 30cm diameter
1kg - 50cm diameter
5kg - 100cm diameter
